The MYJN Note

A living note from our studio. We make your pieces. We also write this.

"I am sorry when an order takes longer, because I need that time to pack each piece slowly and properly so it arrives right for you. We check every clasp and look over the surface for even the tiniest scratch, because I know you would not be happy to receive something less than perfect. We wrap the box well, make sure the items inside are accurate, and confirm that nothing is missing, so your unboxing feels considered and complete. Hand finished pieces are never one hundred percent perfect, so after finishing each one receives an extra plating that adds a protective layer for daily wear. At first you may feel a subtle texture on the surface, which is part of this process and settles with time. With wear the protective layer will fade, and without care the coating can lose strength and the barrier can break down. Jewellery is made to be worn, and it stays beautiful longer when you wipe it after use, keep it dry, and store it with care."

"We also want to be honest about how we work. We truly value our team’s well being and their work life balance. That is why we do not expect them to reply after hours or on their days off. We know this may cause some delay and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Please be assured that every message, email, and DM will be answered with care once we return. At the same time, we understand that sometimes you may not like the way our team replies. We care about your feelings and are always working to do better. From time to time a new colleague or intern joins us, and they may not yet be fully familiar with our voice or way of working. We see those moments as part of learning, and we take them seriously so that every reply feels respectful and thoughtful. Thank you for giving us the time to answer well and for supporting the people who make your pieces."

"We make our own gifts in small runs, shaping each one with the same care as our jewellery. They are never just decorative. We want them to be something you can hold, use, and keep. Before each gift is chosen, we sketch, test materials, and try many variations. Often we make more than ten versions before selecting only a few to share. Each one carries our time, our thought, and our effort. These gifts are our way of saying thank you for standing with us, and we hope you will continue to love MYJN and support our work. Every day I wake up thinking about what is next. A new product launch, a new collection, a new campaign, or a new story to tell. I think about how to make my colleagues’ work easier, how to improve every touchpoint of the customer experience, and how to carry more of the stress so my team does not have to. My effort is to create space for them to work with focus and care, while I hold the weight behind the scenes."

"From the first day of MYJN we have worked with sterling silver. Over the past ten years the price of silver has risen by about forty six percent, reaching around twenty nine dollars per troy ounce in August 2025, with a peak above thirty two. In this reality it is not easy for us to keep offering discounts or to avoid raising prices. We produce in small volumes, never mass. Each design is discontinued after a certain number of pieces. We keep the brand niche on purpose. That requires the founder to remain close to the work and to preserve the spirit behind it. Yet we continue with discounts because we want our pieces to remain accessible. We are a Malaysian brand and we want our customers to enjoy fair pricing on sterling silver while we still hold to high standards in design and finish. Many of our customers return again and again. For them we are willing to keep margins thin so the pieces remain within reach without becoming a burden."

"Alongside silver, we explore other materials to suit different preferences, but all share the same language of minimalism, fluid form, clean lines and surfaces, and clear structure. We do not focus on diamonds, whether natural or lab grown. Our focus is sustainability. We run small, we keep our work low impact, and we build an environment where each colleague can grow and be well paid. Every upgrade we make, from design to packaging, carries cost. All our boxes are recyclable, and each cycle of packaging is improved for the next order. Returning customers receive the new experience each time they shop with us. Even the website you are browsing has been tuned line by line. I have spent years inside its code, scripts, snippets, and stylesheets. There are nights I do not sleep, working until five in the morning just to check one line at a time, all so your experience here feels smooth. If you have been a customer before you may already know. I often reply immediately, whether in the office or off duty. Because behind every piece, every discount, every box, and every reply is the same intention: to keep MYJN close, to keep it accessible, and to keep it true."
