In March this year, we found House 11th.
Some places ask to be admired. Others quietly ask you to stay. From the moment we stepped through the door, we knew this was one of them.
For years, we had imagined a place where living and creating could happen under the same roof. A home where conversations unfold over tea, where ideas grow slowly, and where jewellery is made not apart from life, but as part of it.
When we first moved in, we thought the house needed very little from us. It already carried a quiet beauty of its own. Yet as the days passed, we realised that making a place feel like home is not about changing it. It is about listening to it.
So we began slowly.
We measured corners. We watched how the afternoon light travelled across the walls. We imagined where a table should rest, where books should gather, where a chair would be happiest, and where fresh flowers might catch the morning sun. Every object was chosen patiently, not because it was perfect, but because we believed we would continue loving it many years from now.
Neither of us comes from the worlds of art. We have simply learned along the way, through building MYJN and now this home, to trust our instincts when something feels right. If there is one philosophy these years have taught us, it is this: choose the things you hope to love forever. Time has a beautiful way of rewarding thoughtful choices.
House 11th was designed and built nearly twenty years ago by WHBC Architects. As we learned more about the couple who first imagined this home, we were deeply moved by the warmth and care woven into every corner. It reminded us that meaningful spaces are never only built with concrete and timber. They are shaped by the people who live within them and the stories they leave behind.
We never hoped to rewrite the house's story. We simply hope to continue it, gently and with respect.
Today, we make jewellery inside an architect's home. We wake up here, create here, welcome guests here, and continue growing alongside the house each day. Perhaps this is the most honest reflection of who MYJN has become after nine years. The boundaries between living and creating have quietly disappeared, leaving only one space that holds both.
As we celebrate our ninth anniversary with the soft opening of MYJN Galerie, our hearts are filled with gratitude. This house is still teaching us every day, from the way the light changes throughout the afternoon to the small details that make a space feel alive. We hope that, in time, House 11th becomes a place where you can connect with the space, notice the quiet details, and experience MYJN in a more personal way, as if stepping into a home rather than simply visiting a gallery.
