THE HUSK COLLECTION

begins with what the world leaves behind. The shells, skins and quiet fibres that remain when a harvest is finished. We fold these remnants into calm, architectural boxes with warm matte surfaces and grounded tones taken from nature rather than a colour chart. Each one is made to be kept, not discarded. A small reminder that the overlooked can be made beautiful again.


THE "TREE BARK" EDITION BOX

begins among the trees at our new home.

The land around MYJN Galerie is a small living forest. Many kinds grown into one another, a pulai standing tallest above the roofline.

Bark is a tree's oldest protection. It shields the living wood for years, then cracks, loosens and lets go as the trunk widens. Not damage. Growth. The tree outgrows the very thing that kept it safe.

All through the months we spent readying the space, the tree nearest the house kept shedding its bark, and we gathered the fallen pieces without quite knowing why. When it was time to choose the paper for the next Husk edition, one sheet stopped us. Warm brown, matte, flecked. It looked exactly like the bark outside our door. It turned out to be made from hazelnuts.

After the harvest in Italy, the shell and skin that protected each kernel are stripped away and set aside. The same quiet gesture as the tree outside our window. A protective layer, its work finished, let go. Milled fine and folded back into paper, the husk becomes the colour itself. Nothing here is printed. No two boxes carry the same pattern, the same way no two trees shed the same bark.

Every Husk edition is named for its harvest. This one asked for something different. The harvest is hazelnut. The name is Tree Bark.

We made this box for beginnings. For the piece that marks a new chapter, a first serious gift to yourself, the year everything changed. Bark falls because the tree is growing. We made this box for people doing the same.

THE FORM

The form stays quiet so the material can speak. A low architectural drawer. The MYJN wordmark running long across the lid. No hardware, no ornament, one clean seam. The drawer opens with a measured resistance, slow enough to feel deliberate, smooth enough to become a small daily ritual. In daylight, the surface reads exactly like what inspired it. Tree bark, at rest.

THE GALERIE NOTE

This edition is released alongside the soft opening of MYJN Galerie, the new home of the studio, set among the trees where this story began. Every box leaves from the house itself. If you would like to stand beneath them, visits are open by appointment.

Box and Paper Details

A MYJN® original. Designed exclusively by MYJN studio.

  • Eco packaging box material: paper made with process residues of the hazelnut harvest, the shell and skin left behind once the nuts are cracked and roasted for confectionery.
  • The husk is recovered, dried and micronised into a fine natural raw material. It replaces up to 15% of the virgin tree cellulose in the paper sheet.
  • Handcrafted by our selected production team into the MYJN drawer box structure.
  • The warm bark-brown tone, fine grain and visible flecks are produced by the hazelnut husk within the paper itself. Nothing is printed or applied. No two boxes are exactly alike.
  • Fully recyclable and biodegradable at the end of a long life. We would rather you kept it.


Pouches

  • Every piece ships inside our signature pouch, cut from a high-grade suede-like microfibre. Soft to the touch, structured enough to hold its shape, made to protect.
  • Two separate compartments keep pieces from touching, preventing scratches and minimising tarnish over time. At times, two pieces may share one pouch, one in each compartment.
  • Each pouch carries a woven MYJN label, sewn with clean, thick double-stitched lines on both sides.
  • To keep our packaging honest, we fit up to 3 to 4 purchased pieces in a single jewellery box.
